Dr. Jessica M. Miller is a public health researcher and writer. She began her career as an educator more than two decades ago and has served in every level of education (K-12 and higher education). As a public school administrator Dr. Miller developed an interest in issues related to healthy schools and healthy communities. In 2009, she started her doctoral program and began researching children’s attitudes and beliefs regarding food.
Dr. Miller has a passion for teaching, researching, and writing. Of particular interest to her is educating others regarding individual behaviors that foster positive health outcomes, including healthy eating, adequate water intake, and sufficient sleep. She has a gifted ability to develop a variety of instructional materials and implement them using multiple teaching modalities.
As a professor, Dr. Miller has worked to prepare pre-service teachers and public health professionals for the workforce. She has lectured internationally on public health topics such as contemporary health issues, disease prevention, health promotion, and health communication. Dr. Miller brings her formal public health training and research background to Aesthetic Creations LA to provide non-clinical support and expertise.
Miller holds a Doctor of Public Health degree from Loma Linda University, a Master of Arts degree in Education from Azusa Pacific University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from California State University, San Bernardino.
A native of Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Miller enjoys Southern California’s agreeable weather and a variety of outdoor leisure activities. She also enjoys traveling and is currently writing her first health-related children’s book.
